Rodarte’s lookbook enlists Grimes, Miranda July and Kirsten Dunst as models

Fairytale.
Laura and Kate Mulleavy, the design duo behind Rodarte, have released a series of portraits celebrating the women that inspire them.
Forgoing a runway show at New York Fashion Week, the designers have chosen to display their one-of-a-kind fashion pieces in a lookbook for AW18.
The collection is certainly in keeping with the label’s romantic flare, showcasing chiffon prairie-style frocks, boxy skirts and jackets, and beaded pussybow gowns. The garments come complete with bows and layered trims, using fairytale-like pastels and flamenco-inspired reds and blues.
While we’re totally captivated by the collection itself (can we say ‘whimsical’?), it’s hard to overlook the familiar faces chosen to model it. The Mulleavy sisters have enlisted a lineup of female icons, including Ava Phillippe, Kim Gordon, Grimes, Miranda July and long-time friend Kirsten Dunst — just to name a few.
The result is stunning.
