Australian footwear label Twoobs has released a line inspired by boobs

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TWOOBS

WORDS BY EMILY HOLGATE

A collab set to sell out within hours.

Love shoes that are cute, comfy and show just the right amount of boob? Australian footwear label Twoobs has teamed up with Melbourne-based booby accessory shop, Boo, to create four limited-edition sandals featuring Boo’s iconic breast print.

The funky, colourful kicks remain true to the Twoobs ethos that you ‘don’t have to be uncomfortable in order to look good’. And, like all Twoobs footwear, the shoes are carbon-neutral, vegan and made from vibrant, recycled materials – earning them a PETA tick of approval.

As if there wasn’t reason enough for us to love the playful flats, the Boobs collaboration also celebrates women kicking ass in the fashion industry, combining the work of two female-led businesses.

Who are the women behind the Boobs collab?

Twoobs was founded in 2016 by sisters Jess and Stef Dadon, creators of the blog-turned-podcast How Two Live. After some time spent travelling the globe in their trendy platforms, the pair realised a gap in the market for super comfy (but cute) shoes. Since launching, Twoobs shoes have walked the catwalks of a number of major fashion shows and have featured in Vogue magazine.

Boo – previously known as Boobag – was launched after founder Nicole Esquieres left the 2017 Melbourne Women’s March feeling inspired. Today, her popular label is known for its quirky, vibrant totes sporting swirling images of breasts. Nicole says the trademark ‘Boo print’ is all about ‘equality, freedom and social change.’ Amen.

The details

The Boobs line comes after Twoobs’ successful previous collabs with the likes of First Nations art practice Cungelella and Australian fashion label, Gorman. Twoobs has continued its collab trend of selling out in a matter of hours, with the Boobs collection already completely out the door.

But don’t worry, they’ll be back on March 25 – just get your laptop ready at 12pm and sign up to the Twoobs mailing list to get early access (and ensure you don’t miss out).

Plus, $5 from every pair of Boobs shoes sold will go to Counterpart – a Victorian organisation supporting women living with breast or gynaecological cancer. The initiative helps these women by offering peer support, providing treatment information, and also running a range of creative and wellness events.

The shoes

The Boobs collection champions three iconic Twoobs styles: The Slidekick, The OG+ and The OG. The latter is available in two fun patterns, including a bright blue and white and a striking pink and red. All of them are fitted with easy-access Velcro straps.

A pink sole and red booby pattern can also be seen on The OG+, which features a platform for those wanting a little extra height. The Slidekick boasts two black straps with baby pink lining, a stylish white pattern and a pink sole to match. But make sure to size up – the sleek flats fit a bit smaller than the other Boobs styles.

All of the shoes feature soft, organic cotton and a comfortable memory foam sock, and come in a range of gender-neutral sizes. Twoobs is also giving one lucky FJ reader the chance to win $500 to spend across the range – just fill in this form for your chance to win.

Twoobs believes in spreading the love, and is giving three lucky customers who shop the Boo x Twoobs collection on Friday their money back for their order as a random act of kindness. Sign up for early access to the Boobs collab here.
