Attention lonely people: you can now cuddle a robot to get to sleep

Sweet dreams.

While the use of technology usually hinders our sleep, geniuses have come up with a way to reverse that effect.

Introducing Somnox, the world’s first sleep robot. Like all great ideas, Somnox was conceptualised via Kickstarter, where it has almost doubled its pledging goal.

The bean-shaped robot is designed to lull people to sleep, using breathing regulation, audio and affection. It’s basically a pillow that mimics breathing techniques by using sound and movement, with a wide range of sounds and lullabies available to use.

Users can also upload their own sounds or music to the cuddly pillow, which is also designed with soft foam and a washable cover.

The aim is to improve sleep, soothe body and mind and reduce stress. However, it all comes at a price, with the introductory Kickstarter model starting at €449.

You can pledge to the Kickstarter and get your own sleeping buddy here, or alternatively, head to the Apple app store and download ambient whale noises for free.
