Homewares, skincare, fashion and more.
What happens in someone’s shopping cart is usually personal business. Orders are placed in the soft glow of your digital screen and eventually rock up in slightly-squished boxes from the mailman. But at Fashion Journal we love knowing the contents of these orders.

I’m really fussy when it comes to sandals and slides, and have historically found it difficult to find a pair that goes with a multitude of outfits, is comfy and still looks cute. I’m heading off to Europe soon, so have been searching for that perfect pair; they needed to be easy to slip on and off, have the ability to dress up and down as I’ll have minimal space, and be able to withstand lots of walking without causing unsightly blisters.
After weeks spent trawling the internet (I’m nothing if not obsessive when I’m in search of something) I landed on this pair of chunky crossover slides from Ganni. They have a super cushion-y sole and the chunky platform gives every outfit I’m packing a laidback, ’90s air.

As one of the few (or at least it feels like) not indulging in a European summer, I decided to make myself feel better with some luxe sleepwear. I love Tekla fabrics, particularly the poplin sleepwear, and recently picked up this long-sleeve striped shirt from Pan After. While it is frosty here in Melbourne, I wear breezy PJs year-round (the feeling of waking up from a snooze sweaty is not it), and this shirt is simple enough to wear outside of the bedroom too.

I don’t know how many tubes of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream I’ve gone through in my life, but the number is frighteningly high. After not using it for a good year or so, I saw Mecca started stocking the legacy brand and I was reminded of my love of it. This is my go-to, neutral, non-irritating and effective cream. Its gel-like consistency is a dream on application and it leaves my skin feeling super soft.

After recently moving house, I’ve been sucked into an interior-overhaul frenzy. I’m a messy person by nature, so I’ve been really trying to cull and streamline my homewares where possible. This started with donating some of my old bedsheets and pillows to make room for more high-quality Manchester.
I actually came across the Sage and Clare Luigi Cotton Sheets on TikTok of all places, and thought they’d look great with my plain white linen doona cover and pillows. I picked up the fitted sheet and European pillowcases in the pea colour way, and am so happy with how they both look and feel.

I’ve always loved my housemate’s cushion from Melbourne brand Clumsy – the grooves are perfect for slipping your arms through, and the boucle fabric feels incredibly cozy. After clutching hers like it was a boyfriend pillow every time I was in her room, I decided to get one of my own. It adds a point of interest to my pretty neutral bedding, and is so weirdly comforting to wake up to.

I’ve been on the hunt for another classic, high-quality black tank for a long time. I’ve got one faithful companion but it’s slowly showing signs of wear. This made-to-order piece that’s able to be worn three ways from Sydney label Bodicia B looks like it’ll fit the brief. When I saw my Editor planning to buy one, I had to go in on the order.

For someone who has a lot of knits and long-sleeve tops, I’m really lacking when it comes to elevated basics and comfy clothes. I’d been on the hunt for a hoodie that doubled as both an easy office throw-on and one I could mosey ’round the house in.
Melbourne-based multibrand store Sucker is a go-to when it comes to elevated streetwear, carrying a great range of apparel and accessories from emerging labels. I found this gorgi lavender hoodie from artist Jack Irvine, which strikes the perfect balance between comfy and cool.
