Colours of Impressionism.

Over 65 French Impressionist masterworks will make their way to Australia, en-route from the Musee d’Orsay in Paris.

Titled Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay, the exhibition charts the revolution of colour that lies at the very heart of the impressionist movement.

Offering new perspectives on the works, the exhibition features art from Claude Monet alongside Edouard Manet, Paul Cezanne and Pierre Auguste Renoir.

In an unprecedented move, the Art Gallery of South Australia will be staging the exhibition in one of Australia’s few 19th-century gallery spaces, the Elder Wing, a fitting backdrop for the historic artworks.

Colours of Impressionism will run at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide from March 29 – July 29.
