Melbourne just received its own ‘Fearless Girl’ statue

Ahead of International Women’s Day.
One of New York’s most iconic works of art has come all the way to Melbourne.
Kristen Visbal’s ‘Fearless Girl’ was installed on Wall Street on International Women’s Day in 2017, placed in the path of the long-standing ‘Charging Bull’ statue. The empowering piece represents a need for gender equality in the workplace, particularly in industries such as finance.
Now, thanks to Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, HESTA and Cbus, a limited-edition replica of the famous work has found a home in Federation Square.
This is the third replica to be housed outside of New York, with the aim of spreading the statue’s message across the globe.
You can check out ‘Fearless Girl’ for yourself from today at Federation Square.
