The new tiny house.
When Muji’s tiny houses hit the market last year, we were understandably excited.
But for people in overpopulated urban areas, a house (no matter how small) isn’t always an option.
Muji’s solution: tiny apartments, made for sharing.
Like all good micro houses, the design by architect Go Hasegawa ensures every inch of space is used efficiently.
The bottom floor features a kitchen and common area, while multiple bedrooms are tucked away in suspended wooden containers overhead. These private areas include a wall of shelves, versatile stairs/seating and enough room for a small bed.
The apartment was displayed as part of the House Vision exhibition held in Beijing, but there’s no word yet on when they’ll be up for sale.
