Getty Images has released 42 new stock photos in the name of diversity

YES TO THIS.

We love any project that champions diversity and Getty Images is the latest to do so.

Spurred by the current whitewashing of stock images, the image platform has teamed up with photographer and filmmaker, Campbell Addy, to deliver a more inclusive series of images.

The new stock photos see a diverse cast of men and women featured across 42 portraits. Titled Portrait of young person holding ambiguous gaze, they aim to diversify the world of stock images.

Addy was a smart choice for the project. The photographer is behind modelling agency, Nii Agency, and independent magazine, Nii Journal, both of which seek to bring largely unrepresented faces into the spotlight.

“It is my aim with the portraits I have created to highlight and celebrate diversity in society and ultimately drive positive change in visual language,” said Addy of the collab.

“It’s something I’m really passionate about so it’s incredibly exciting to be taking action in partnership with Getty Images.”
