Netflix has added an offline download feature so you can Netflix and chill 24/7

Like they haven’t done enough for us already.

If you were to ask me yesterday to make a list of things that are high on my list of annoying, you would have been given two answers:

a) the fact that you can’t get $10 out of an ATM
b) that streaming Netflix is a strictly internet-only activity

That was yesterday, however, because today brings great news.

The beautiful folk at Netflix have introduced an app update, through which you can download content onto your mobile device and watch it offline. Like they haven’t done enough for us already.

On an airplane? Stuck in the tunnel? Out of Wi-Fi and too poor to waste money on your data? There’s now a button for that.

To access offline downloads, simply update your iOS or Android app. Once updated, you can select an “Available for Download” section in the menu, showing you the entire collection of downloadable content.

I know what you’re thinking: what’s the catch?

Well one teeeeeny tiny, minor setback is the fact that although Netflix plans to expand the offering, right now it’s only available for their original productions. Ya know, Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, House of Cards, etc.

“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where internet is expensive or limited,” said Netflix’s director of product innovation, Eddy Wu.

Is it too late to submit entries for The Nobel Prize? Because I’d like to nominate Eddy for his involvement in this life-changing invention.

What a time to be alive.
