Science has now invented music for your cat

Meowsic.

Music. For. Cats.

You’ve now seen and heard it all.

Composer and lifelong musician David Teie (aka leader of the crazy cat people), has started a Kickstarter campaign to compose music specifically designed for cats.

In preparation for this campaign, Teie established why humans have an emotional response to music and applied this to our feline friends.

Cats establish their awareness of music outside of the womb, through sounds such as birds chirping or the purring of their mother.

Using musical instruments, Teie mimicks those sounds and matches them to the frequency range cats use to communicate.

So yes, it’s actually scientifically backed.

The campaign has now reached 9637 backers and raised a total of $229,214. Its goal was $20,000.

This might have something to do with the internet’s crazed love of cats, but its providing owners a new way to bond with their feline friends.

While $5 will get you a digital download of the song, larger backs of $1000 will get you a song named after your cat.

Cat or dog lovers aside, the proof is in the purrs.
