Grab your basketball: ‘Space Jam 2’ is officially a go
Words by James Di Fabrizio
I used to think about it every night and day.
’90s kids, rejoice. The greatest basketball film of all time, Space Jam, is officially getting a sequel.
What’s more, this time around the movie will feature modern basketball’s answer to Michael Jordan – Lebron James. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is on board too, as revealed by a Twitter post from James’ production company SpringHill Entertainment.

Here’s what the big man himself, Lebron James, had to say about it all:
“The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie.
“It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”
Personally, I just want to see Bill Murray return to the court.
Either way, the nostalgia is strong with this one. We’re keen.
