Tinder launches ‘Festival Mode’ to streamline your hookups

Words by Christina Karras

Love in a hopeless place.

Notorious for coordinating hookups with strangers, Tinder has launched a new feature dubbed ‘Festival Mode’.

With the help of the new feature, users can add a badge to their profile, announcing their planned music festival destination. From there, they can match and chat with other users attending the same event. The badges will be active three weeks before each event, giving singles the chance to scope out the potential dating pool in advance.

In a statement the app announced: “No longer are your connections limited to your campsite neighbours or whose shoulders you stood on during the headliner’s performance. Put down your fringe boots and neon fanny pack because, thanks to Tinder, your festival game is now stronger than ever.”

Ah, romance.

While it’s not available in Australia yet, the launch features a line-up of events from the US and UK, including Governors Ball, Hangout Music Fest, Bonnaroo and Parklife.

Happy swiping.
