Break up with the Beatles, I’m bored.
Unless you really do live under a rock, you’re probably aware of the currently inescapable Ariana Grande hype.
Now, the singer has gone on to break a record that hasn’t been touched since 1964.
Following the release of her album thank u, next, Grande currently holds the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The number one spot went to ‘7 Rings’ for the fourth week in a row, followed closely by ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored’ and ‘Thank U, Next’.
Since the only act to previously accomplish the feat is The Beatles, Grande has made history as the first woman and first solo act to do so.
Grande reacted to the news in real time on Twitter, tweeting “yo what” before admitting she originally thought the chart had been Photoshopped by a fan.
i laughed when i saw this bc i thought y’all edited it. thank u from the bottom of my heart. for so many reasons. first time since the beatles huh. that’s wild. i thought this was a joke when i saw it i’m not kidding. i love u. so much. always have n will. thank u for everything. https://t.co/133Fp690fT
