Alpine announces intimate Australian tour

It’s going to be Yuck.

To celebrate the release of new single and video ‘Shot Fox’, Alpine has annouced a few intimate launch shows, kicking off in Melbourne on October 22. ‘Shot Fox’ is the latest from the band’s enchanting new album Yuck, which is nothing like the name would suggest.

But while the song and its video seem dreamy and surreal, they also have a beautiful take on the nature of life, according to singer Lou James:

“The title ‘Shot Fox’ refers to old Australian slang, ‘grinning like a shot fox.’ In hunting, even when a fox has been killed their facial expression remains happy and smug.  So in times of heartbreak, rather than being defeated and serving the sadness, the song is about being triumphant in your ability to move on without regretting any of it because you’ve come out of it the other end now grinning like a shot fox.”

Yuck has already received rave reviews, so you’d better get in quick if you want to hear it live. You can catch Alpine around the country from October through to January.
