Keep your clothing out of landfill.
You wouldn’t be wrong in thinking online resale platforms and vintage stores are the only options when it comes to buying and selling your worn clothing. When you picture ‘pre-loved’, you typically think of frustrating Depop sellers and hours spent combing through racks in the hopes of finding a unicorn. Until recently, they were my go-tos if I wanted to snag a well-priced, secondhand style. However, there is a third option.

Increasingly, Australian labels are choosing to be part of the circular process. Whether you’re a seller wanting to clear out your wardrobe or a buyer looking for an archived style or discounted price tag, these four brands have created dedicated pre-loved platforms to help give pre-worn clothes a new life.

Sydney label Ramp Tramp Tramp Stamp (RTTS) has an entire page dedicated to buying and selling pre-loved pieces. There are two ways to sell your beloved RTTS garments. You can opt to complete an online form and when approved, your listing will be shard to RTTS’ Resale World site. That way, the item remains yours until it sells.
Alternatively, you can bring in your clothes to the Darlinghurst store, where staff will calculate the value and essentially buy it back from you. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

‘Reworn’ is a pre-loved service created by Assembly Label. Having been in operation for over three years, Reworn is a series of capsule collections consisting of pre-loved Assembly pieces. Consumers can either post or drop off their clothes at an Assembly Label store near them and receive a 20 per cent off their next purchase when they make a contribution.
All items donated undergo an inspection process where they will be professionally laundered and repaired before becoming part of the Reworn collection. So far, more than 850 garments have been sold.

New Zealand label Kotow is know for its steadfast commitment to sustainability in fashion. ‘Relove’ is it’s platform dedicated to circularity, allowing you to earn ‘Collective points’ by selling or buying pre-loved garments. Simply take a photo of your Kowtow garment and submit it online through your online Collective account. From there, the brand will assess and let you now where to send your items.
Once reviewed, the label will suggest a resell price that aligns with the garment’s condition which you can accept or decline.
