How-to: Date night makeup
Roses are red.
Whether you’re spending the day of love in the arms of your sweetheart, heading out on a date or hanging with your girlfriends, Valentine’s Day is all about getting spoilt. But why not treat yourself?
We teamed up with Global Makeup Artist for Napoleon Perdis, Shev Kelly, to pull together a glam V Day look you can do yourself.
Step one: Prep and prime
Begin your look by applying luminous primer all over the face to add a gorgeous glow. Keep your lips hydrated for a big night ahead with a clear lip balm.
Step two: Lashes and brows
Open the eyes and add drama by applying a waterproof black mascara to the upper and lower lashes, then sweep a brow mascara through your brows to shape and keep them in place all night.
Step three: Base
Achieve a long-lasting yet fresh look using a luminous BBB cream. Make every selfie perfect (be honest, you’re going to take lots) by setting your skin with a pressed powder.
Step four: Cheeks
Sculpt and define the cheekbones, temples and hairline using a matte bronzer then add luminosity and highlight the skin using Light Switch Luminizer Palette.
Step five: Eyes
Add warmth to the eye with a light application of bronzer through the sockets of the eye, blending upwards and outwards for a fused finish. Smoke up the look with a touch of pearly plum eyeshadow on the eyelids and lower lash line. Line and define your eyes using a black pencil along the upper and lower lash lines.
Step six: Lips
Create a super glossy lip by applying a nude creamy lipstick and layering with a generous coat of lip lacquer in a matching shade.
