The ones worth the hype.
I’m starting to suspect beauty marketers have some kind of sixth sense. This month, packages arrived on my desk with almost uncanny timing: a cooling eye stick during a particularly bad 4pm slump, hydrating mouth tape just as I started waking up with a dry throat, and a playful new eyeshadow palette right when I was getting bored of my makeup.

Coincidence? Probably. But I’m not complaining. From a fragrance designed to promote inner peace to a dedicated cream for your décolletage, here are the launches we’ve been testing and loving this month.
Half Magic Velvet Flick Longwear Wing + Waterline eyeliner pencil, $43

Donni Davy (the makeup lead on Euphoria) makes the best eyeliner, obviously. I was shocked at how easily this glided on thanks to the thin, flat applicator. It’s a pencil that’s as smooth and pigmented as a liquid. If you like a very fine, delicate line or you tightline to make your lashes look fuller, this is the best.

Loops Night Shift Hydrating Mouth Tape, $25

I’m a recent mouth tape convert. Whenever I remember to use it, I wake up feeling a lot fresher – my throat isn’t dry and I’ve usually slept better. Although you can technically use a paper-based medical tape, I wouldn’t recommend it if you have chapped or dry lips. This one actually hydrates your lips as you sleep – genius.

Le Labo Shiu 25 50ml, $588

My favourite Le Labo fragrances are the city exclusive ones. Shiu 25 is the brand’s latest release, inspired by Beijing and built around the Shiu tree, famous for its fragrant wood. Much lighter than your typical woody scent, it’s balanced with clean citrus and herbal notes, and it’s one I’d reach for every day. Normally, you’d need a trip to China to pick this up but until September 30, you can shop all of Le Labo’s city exclusive fragrances from the website.

Sans [ceuticals] Re-Bond and Seal Hair Treatment, $59

Think of this as the all-natural version of K18. Sans’ new strengthening treatment works by targeting the most damaged parts of the hair fibre, restoring and sealing the cuticle to prevent split ends. It’s also quick and simple to use – spritz it on in the shower after shampooing, follow with your conditioner and rinse after two minutes. Voilà, healthier hair.

Tronque Neck and Décolletage Elixir, $130

Do you really need a separate cream for your neck? I’ve always thought no, but Tronque has me converted. Packed with vitamin C and skin-repairing exosomes, this lightweight gel has a cooling effect that makes for a lovely wind-down bedtime ritual. Facialists are always saying “skincare ends at the nipples” and now that I’ve tried a dedicated décolletage cream, I’m inclined to agree.

Just as I was getting bored of my everyday makeup, this insanely fun eyeshadow palette arrived from Mecca. Trust Isamaya Ffrench to curate the coolest edit of colours, housed in a sleek silver bean. I’m particularly into the lilac shades for spring.
