Dior Makeup’s augmented reality Instagram filter turns you into a beauty vlogger

The first 3D IG filter.
Benefit Cosmetics lets you “try” on a different eyebrow shape on its app, Sally Hansen has created technology to test out a nail polish colour before you buy, and YouTube launched its AR Beauty Try On platform (where users can try on make-up as they’re watching beauty vlogger’s videos), it’s apparent that if you’re a player in the beauty industry you need to be in the augmented reality game to be taken seriously.
Dior Makeup is next to join the AR bandwagon by launching its 3Dior Instagram Filter. Inspired by Dior Makeup’s 2020 holiday collection, the creation is the first-ever 3D Instagram filter.
Created as a collaboration between Dior Makeup’s creative and image director, Peter Philips, and digital artist, Inés Alpha, the filter uses the Party in Colours palette to create a fun holiday look. The filter makes your eyes pop as sequins seem to burst from the screen.
“It’s as if 3D makeup were right in front of us, as if we could touch it,” said Inés in a statement.
You can try the filter out for yourself on the Dior Makeup Instagram.
