Skin goals.

The makeup look created at Christopher Esber’s MBFWA show is how we want our skin to look all the time. Literally, all the time. Think dewy with highlights in all the right places.

Mecca Cosmetica’s lead artist Janelle Jerusalem talked us through the magic that happened backstage pre-show. We’ll be trying this one at home.

1. We took all evidence of previous shows off with Mecca Cosmetica Micellar Water for a clean base.

2. To prepare the skin for a healthy and dewy skin look, Fresh Faced Hydrating Mask was applied for at least 15 minutes on each model (and even longer where possible).

3. We then applied the Multi-Purpose Plumping Balm for an instant plumping effect – this really brings the complexion to life.

4. As we wanted a beauty look that glows all the way down the runway, we used Lit From Within Illuminating Primer on the skin as a base, followed by In A Good Light Tinted Moisturiser. This hydrating, light coverage tinted moisturizer evens out the skin tone and ensures the complexion looks ‘real’ without covering the skin. We wanted to bring the models’ natural beauty out, rather than cover it. For any imperfections, we spot concealed with the NARS Matte Concealer.

5. Using just fingers, Enlightened Lit From Within Balm was dabbed on the high-points of the face, including cheekbones, brow bones, cupids bow and chins, but also all over the eyelids for a moist, dewy effect.

6. With the Lit From Within Powder, we doubled up on the glow on cheekbones and in the inner corners of eyes.

7. Lips were coated in Lip de-Luscious in Nude which is a soft, pretty pink that works on all skin tones and has a slight glossy effect.

8. To finish, brows were brushed up with the All Set Makeup Perfecting Mist sprayed onto a brow brush. This is a little trick we use for natural looking brows with subtle definition. Then, of course, All Set Makeup Perfecting Mist all over.
