MAC’s VIVA GLAM celebrates 25 years of fighting HIV/AIDS with Winnie Harlow

Words by Ruby Staley

Lippy for a good cause.

MAC Cosmetics launched its very first VIVA GLAM campaign back in 1994 at the height of the AIDs epidemic.

Fast forward to 2019, and the brand has raised over $500 million globally for the fight against the disease.

This year, the brand is celebrating 25 years of VIVA GLAM with an exclusive new design for the iconic matte lipstick. Winnie Harlow fronts the campaign, paying tribute to RuPaul’s dramatic look from the lippie’s first ’90s release.

In Australia, 100 per cent of proceeds have been donated to organisations such as Sydney Children’s Hospital, Victorian AIDS Council, Positive Life NSW and Western Australian AIDS Council.

You can pick up your own VIVA GLAM 25th anniversary lipstick (and support a good cause) from May 1 in stores and online.
