We are seeking a proactive Product Developer to join our Abrand Women’s team, helping bring our apparel and denim collections to life across global markets. You will be responsible for ensuring garments are produced accurately to brief, to the highest quality standards, and within timing expectations. You will contribute significantly to the development process, build strong relationships with factories, and oversee the execution from tech pack through to final production.
KEY SKILLS
- Proven experience in product development of denim and other apparel, ideally with women’s wear focus.
- Garment construction and pattern knowledge is essential. Ability to work independently within fit sessions.
- Experience liaising with overseas suppliers/manufacturers is essential.
- Strong understanding of the full production process including pre-production.
- Good knowledge of textiles/fabrics.
- Ability to negotiate costs with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Excel and Illustrator (or other relevant tech pack/design tools).
- Highly organised, excellent attention to detail, strong time-management skills to always meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT EXECUTION
- Support designers in developing seasonal specs and tech packs for denim and apparel.
- Manage all incoming and outgoing samples: Measure, organise fit models, coordinate pre-fit session notes. Preparation of samples pre range meetings.
- Execute Fit Sessions: Plan and independently run fit sessions with designers for all sample stages of each range.
- Factory Communication: Provide comprehensive fit comments and send detailed production approval feedback to factories. Maintain strong, respectful daily communication with makers to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality samples.
- Quality Control: Oversee quality for garments, trims, and packaging.
PRODUCTION AND TIMELINE MANAGEMENT
- Critical Path Management: Work with suppliers to keep the critical pathway on track and ensure deadlines are met.
- Administration: Maintain all data administration within the PLM for all stages of the development and production process.
- Provide brand and department support as required.
