Role Description
We are seeking a motivated and creatively driven Assistant Designer to support our design team. This is a rare opportunity to develop your career in an inspiring and collaborative environment.
The Assistant Designer will work closely with the Design and Production teams, to support all stages of the design process – from research and development, through to sampling and final range delivery. This role requires a detail-oriented individual, with strong technical design skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Designer across all phases of collection development.
- Conduct fabric, trim and technique research to inform seasonal concepts.
- Support with technical design documentation and CADs.
- Communicate with suppliers on fabric sourcing, lab dips and approvals.
- Prepare technical packs, maintain BOMs and support fit sessions.
- Help maintain timelines, manage WIPs, sample tracking and fabric movements.
- Assist in budget cost tracking.
- Maintain an accurate and organised collection archive.
- Oversee the workflow of sample room, ensuring efficient organisation and tracking of sample development.
- Sample cutting and bespoke garment finishes on SMS.
KEY SKILLS
- Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a design or developmental role.
- Proactive with the initiative to navigate challenges before they arrive.
- Proficient in Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and fabrication.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills with a calm and considered approach.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Highly conscientious, with a keen eye for refinement and finish.
