Role Description
P Johnson is looking for a full-time Design Assistant to join our team. This is an on-site role located in Darlinghurst, NSW, where the successful candidate will work closely with our design and production teams to assist with day-to-day tasks to ensure design processes are maintained from ideation to hand over to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspiration research as required.
- CAD technical illustrations to a brief.
- Complete and maintain tech packs ready to issue to suppliers.
- Coordinate strike-offs, lab dips and knit downs, yarns, embroideries under the guidance of the Designers.
- Maintain seasonal design boards and range plans.
- Maintain development schedule and manage follow up to ensure critical path dates are met.
- Coordinate salesman sample ranges for Sales, Marketing and Press.
- Maintain design room including filing of fabric/yarn cards trims and samples.
KEY SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fashion design, product development, or related fields.
- Experience with garment production or working with garment factories.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or other design software to create technical drawings and specs.
- Knowledge of garment construction, patterns, and fabrics.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Passion for fashion, design, and sustainability
