Variety Hour is an independent Australian fashion brand creating art-focused clothing from our Fitzroy, Melbourne studio.
Founded by artist Cassie Byrnes, Variety Hour is defined by its creative, print-driven collections, strong visual identity, super passionate customer base and a deep commitment to originality. Variety Hour operates with creative independence and a clear point of view, producing considered collections for an audience at home and overseas.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Content Coordinator to lead our organic social presence and brand storytelling with a focus on Instagram and TikTok.
This is a highly creative, hands-on role for someone who lives inside social platforms, loves narrative and series-based content, and knows how to turn brand ideas into consistent, memorable output.
You’ll work closely with the Founder and Brand Manager, and be supported by an in-house video editor
This role owns planning, execution, and evolution of our organic social strategy, and while not responsible for paid media, requires an understanding of the role social plays across the marketing mix.
ABOUT YOU
- A few years into your career with excellent taste and strong instincts when it comes to fashion and best in class social media content.
- Or someone just getting started but is genuinely brilliant at thinking, making, and seeing culture, and threading a brand story within it.
- A social expert who understands how Instagram and TikTok work (and why they’re different).
- Someone with experience managing social for bigger brands but wants the freedom and creative control of a smaller, independent brand.
- Comfortable being on camera.
- Confident creating, editing, directing, and experimenting.
- Curious about fashion, art, culture, and storytelling.
- Collaborative, adaptable and have an entrepreneurial + start-up spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading our organic social presence across Instagram and TikTok.
- Translating our marketing calendar & key product drops into unmissable social storytelling.
- Turning ideas, moments, conversations, and creative direction into content.
- Creating and shaping content, sometimes shooting yourself, often directing edits.
- Writing captions, hooks, overlays, and helping define how the brand sounds online.
- Developing longer-term social ideas like formats, series, and recurring concepts.
- Planning social content in a way that gives clarity but still leaves room to be reactive.
- Managing creator gifting and relationships.
- Helping bring events, launches, and brand moments to life on social.
- Working super closely with other parts of the business (product, design and digital) to find and tell the stories our customers need to know.
