Clarks x Carhartt is a combination of the classics

Fashion and function.

Clarks Originals silhouettes are reliable for a reason, but the brand’s mission to collaborate with some of the world’s most iconic labels twists old favourites into new directions.

Capitalising on our current collective obsession with nostalgia, a new collaboration between Clarks and Carhartt is a nod to heritage pieces from both labels.

You (like us, admittedly) may not have realised that Carhartt’s roots are in tradie uniforms. The brand was founded in 1989 in Michigan, USA to produce workwear for labourers. Throughout the two World Wars, it manufactured military uniforms and coveralls for soldiers, support personnel, and workwear for women working in factories on the home front.

The collab will include iterations of the classic Clarks Wallabee Boot in two colourways. The brown version is reminiscent of Carhartt WIP’s Michigan Chore Coat, while the olive camo hue references the military-themed pieces that have popped up throughout the brand’s collections since the 1990s.

It also follows in the footsteps of Clarks’ best styles including its recognisable crepe sole for maximum flexibility and comfort. Continuing in the vein of functional fashion, the shoes are designed to withstand wear and tear. They’re made of suede which is both stain and water-resistant.

Carhartt WIP x Clarks Originals will be available online and in selected stores from September 5.
