Coach becomes the latest luxury brand to go fur-free

More of this.

Yet another big brand has announced it’s going fur-free. Following announcements from Burberry and Versace earlier this year, Coach has pledged to cease using fur.

“Coach has been committed to advancing sustainable practices for many years, with the introduction of our corporate responsibility goals in 2015,” said the brand’s CEO and president, Joshua Schulman. “Back then, we laid the groundwork for prioritizing social and environmental initiatives. The decision to go fur-free is a truly meaningful milestone for the brand.”

According to Business of Fashion, fur only made up less than one per cent of the brand’s collections anyway, so the move doesn’t actually change much in terms of Coach releases.

The announcement takes place ahead of the brand’s Fall 2019 release.
