The best of the best.

Over 500 designers applied for consideration across 12 different categories.

“We set out to create an awards program that celebrates the design and creativity we champion on The Design Files, from small scale, handcrafted practices to complex, collaborative projects,” says TDF founder and editor Lucy Feagins.

As a result, the awards cover everything from architecture and landscaping to interior, textile and floral design.

In the Textile category, 10 designers have been selected as finalists.

Each entry has been assessed by a number of criteria including originality, visual appeal, function, craftsmanship, sustainability and visionary thinking.

Fashion-savvy finalists include Cassie Byrnes from Variety Hour, Esther Sandler from Togetherness Design, Georgina Whingham from GEORGE, and a collaboration between Julie White and The Ghan Project.

The category also includes a number of lifestyle and homeware designers like Rachel Castle and Georgia Cannon.

A panel of 31 esteemed judges will assess the shortlist, ready to announce the Design Awards winners on September 19.

In the meantime, you can check out the categories and finalists online.
