Thumbs up.

In a win for the environment, H&M has announced it will trial the sale of second-hand and vintage garments for its sub-brand & Other Stories.

The trial will launch on Swedish start-up Sellpy – a second-hand marketplace H&M has invested in. It will feature pre-loved items from & Other Stories, with the view to extend to other brands in years to come if successful.

“We see this as a growing part of the industry, with great opportunities both for consumers and not least for the environmental impact, and how we can drastically reduce that by extending the life of the products,” H&M Head of Sustainability Anna Gedda told Reuters.

The move joins previous sustainable initiatives from H&M in recent times, including offering repair services in select countries, using more organic cotton in its products and encouraging customers to recycle clothing.
