Kate Sylvester releases a collection inspired by video games

Gaming, but make it fashion.

Kate Sylvester has just released her SS19 collection and her inspiration is somewhat surprising. 

Kraftwork is a fresh range from the New Zealand designer which celebrates traditional crafting techniques through modern fabrics. Blanket stitch and basketweave prints are showcased throughout the entire release in a subtle yet effective way. 

But Sylvester has also cited the virtual world of video games as the unconventional inspiration connecting each piece in Kraftwork. Soft allusions to pixelation are made through geometric prints, while a technological vibe is maintained through subtle metallic details and mesh fabrics.

There are also strong Japanese-influenced designs throughout, which are evident in the sharp silhouettes and bold colours.
