Next stop, world domination.

Our favourite Japanese cat is heading to Hollywood.

After five years of discussions, Sanrio has signed a deal with New Line Cinema and Flynn Picture Company to produce a Hello Kitty movie.

It’s the first time that Hello Kitty rights have been granted to a film studio in the cat’s 45-year history, marking a monumental move for Sanrio.

According to reports, the film will also feature HK’s pals Gudetama, My Melody and Little Twin Stars, but the plot is yet to be revealed.

The release date is also unknown at this point, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
