Childish Gambino’s team has denied those plagiarism claims

Don’t catch you slippin’ up.

Yesterday we brought news that Childish Gambino had come under fire for allegedly plagiarising another artist in the making of ‘This Is America’.

Fans of American rapper Jase Harley had likened Gambino’s track to ‘American Pharoah’, a song released by Harley in 2016.

Now, Gambino’s camp has wasted no time in shutting down those rumours.

His manager, Fam Rothstein, took to Twitter to deny the allegations in a since-deleted tweet:

“the Internet is a place of no consequences. I hate that Toronto Akademiks/every white blogger can say something as gospel and y’all take it. this song is 3 yrs old, and we have pro tools files to prove it. but fuck you and your moms, and your future fetuses. stay blessed.”
