adidas is looking for emerging creatives to join its Design Academy program

Applications are now open.

Calling all sneaker enthusiasts: adidas is hiring.

The brand is “calling creators” to join its Design Academy, helping the next generation of talent get their foot in the door (pun definitely intended).

The 24-month rotational program spans the fields of apparel, footwear, colour, materials and graphics, selecting trainees that will work with the adidas design team to “create, invent and break new ground.”

It will take aspiring designers behind the scenes of the company: from inception and development, through to the process of getting product on shelves.

adidas HQs in Portland Oregon and Herzogenaurach Germany will house the program, with the German location including a footwear specialty and Portland offering a focus on design and graphics. Regardless of their specialty, however, trainees will get the opportunity to work across various adidas brands. There is also the chance to go abroad on assignment to places like Tokyo or Shanghai. So. Many. Perks.

The academy is specifically catered to up-and-comers in the industry, with the application mentioning they will accept a maximum of two years’ experience (including internships, freelance and any other entry-level work).

According to adidas, the brand is “looking for people who have a passion for sport and never settle for ‘good enough’.”

The deadline is April 15 (next week) with the program beginning October 1. After the initial application process, a select group of applicants will travel to adidas HQ in Germany for a “creative assessment” with senior members of the design team. Whatever that means…

Now if you’re already halfway through writing a new adidas-tailored resume, check out the details of the Design Academy program here.
