Practical pieces for the pragmatic cool-girl.

After celebrating its 10th birthday last year, fan favourite GANNI took to Copenhagen Fashion Week this week with a new collection.

GANNI’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection has a futuristic flair that the brand’s Creative Director, Ditte Reffstrup, says references the ‘wild times’ we’re living in.

The 202020 release is inspired by hyperconnectivity and takes note from the ‘window of inspiration’ that is the smartphone.

This direction is more culturally referential than usual, with Victorian-esque motifs (think berets and blouson-style sleeves), some massive collars and train conductor hats. There’s also an appropriate nod to androgyny – tweed grandad blazers, military greens, biker-style black denim and chunky combat boots.

The Copenhagen-based, family-owned label still stays true to its Scandinavian origins, with plenty of practical pantsuits, oversized outerwear, florals and fancy neutrals.

After 10 years with the brand, and at the height of their success, husband and wife duo Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup are now proving their fashion fluency with a visibly clued-in collection, as well as a sustainability promise.

Emerging female creatives are invited to join the GANNI 202020 Kiosk, a pop-up Fashion Week collaboration designed to raise money for research projects helping to improve circularity in the fashion industry.

GANNI also now ships to Australia. Shop the latest collection here.
