Another label joins the movement.

In a win for animal rights, Jean Paul Gaultier has announced he won’t be using real fur in any of his label’s future collections.

While live on French TV, the designer called the methods used to kill animals for fur “absolutely deplorable”.

The fashion house is one of many called out by PETA over the years, with activists staging protests at a Jean Paul Gaultier runway in 2002, and a Paris boutique in 2006.

Moving forward, the designer will join the ranks of Coach, Burberry, Gucci and more in opting for faux fur alternatives, in order to eradicate the use of fur in the industry.
