The best spots in Melbourne for vintage clothing, furniture, accessories and more.

ICYMI, Melbourne has just been crowned the coolest city in the world in 2026. In fact, it’s the first time an Australian city has beaten out the rest of the globe for the top spot on Time Out’s Best Cities list.

While we’ve already known this to be true (Fashion Journal has been based in Naarm since 1991, after all), there’s no disputing the facts: excellent coffee, a thriving arts scene and some of the best vintage shopping in the country.

For more style inspiration, head to our Fashion section.

From vintage warehouses to archival designer boutiques, the city offers every opportunity to find the pre-loved piece of your dreams. Whether you’re into ’70s psychedelia, ’80s gaud or ’90s minimalism, Melbourne holds your vintage shop soulmate.

Lost and Found Market

Located up a flight of stairs in the heart of Fitzroy, Lost and Found is a sprawling fleamarket comprised of stalls from local vintage sellers. You can find all kinds of clothing, accessories and bric-a-brac from decades past, like frilly ’50s swimsuits, patchwork ’60s denim and silk slips from the mid-’90s. Expect to lose a few hours exploring the market’s expansive offering.
