Beats releases a set of wireless earphones to rival AirPods

Sleek.

Beats has unveiled a worthy challenger of Apple’s AirPods, with the release of Powerbeats Pro.

The wireless earphones are the first new product from Beats in two years, featuring a signature ear hook design that is 23% smaller and 17% lighter than regular Powerbeats.

They’re also sweat-resistant, water-resistant, and hold up to 9 hours of battery life (plus 24 hours of playback with an accompanying charging case).

An integration of Beats and Apple engineering, the earphones are designed for music lovers and motivated athletes alike. Optical sensors control automatic play/pause when the earphones are removed or placed in your ears, while physical volume and track controls are placed on each earbud for ease of use.

Each earbud will automatically power on when taken out of its charger case, and power off when placed inside. Once they’ve been left idle for a period of time, they’ll enter an automatic sleep mode.

And because it’s all about the ∼lewk∼, the Powerbeats Pro earphones are available in black, ivory, moss and navy.

You can pick yours up online and at Apple stores from May for $349.95.
