Think pink.

Back in March, we reported on the imminent arrival of a Hello Kitty Shinkansen in Japan.

Now, we’ve been given our first glimpse inside the train, and the Japanese cat has not held back.

While the images are only concept renderings at this point, they give us a pretty good idea of what’s to come. In keeping with Hello Kitty’s theme, the entire carriage is covered in pink. Expect Hello Kitty graphics plastered across every surface, including the train seats, carpet and walls.

The first carriage, dubbed ‘Hello! Plaza!’ acts as a gift shop for visitors, also featuring a video corner for Hello Kitty films, and a photoshoot area. The second, ‘Kawaii! Room’, features the train’s seating, and is an area for visitors to relax.

The Hello Kitty Shinkansen is due to run from June 30 to September 30, between Osaka and Hakata. Better get those flights organised.
