The NGV is bringing drawing classes straight to your home

WORDS BY MAGGIE ZHOU

Meet your new art teachers.

Bored in the house and in the house bored? (Sorry). The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is curing your isolation blues and bringing its beloved Drop-by Drawings class to a screen near you.

Throughout this four-part virtual series, three contemporary Australian artists are bringing free, step-by-step guides on how to draw while taking inspiration from some of their favourite works from the NGV’s collection.

Artists Lily Mae Martin, Minna Gilligan and Kenny Pittock will share some of their top tips and tricks while drawing from artworks ranging from the nineteenth century to Andy Warhol and David Hockney.

A new video will drop every Sunday from April 5 – 19. Watch the tutorials on the new NGV Channel where you can also take virtual tours of the Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines and KAWS exhibitions.

All this from the comfort of your pasta-stained sweatpants. Thank you, sweet Internet.
