An orchestral performance of ‘The Little Mermaid’ is coming to Melbourne

Words by Nicole La Ruffa

Move aside, children.

It’s hard to believe that The Little Mermaid is turning the big 30 this year.

To commemorate the occasion, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is debuting two live concerts, sparking the classic Disney film to life.

Those attending can sing along to all the beloved tunes from the movie’s original score, belting out tracks like ‘Part of Your World’, and ‘Under the Sea’.

To heighten the Disney magic, show-goers can spy characters like Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, King Triton and Ursula up on the screen. Though, the movie is probably already ingrained in our minds (and our hearts).

The concert runs for around two hours, with a 20-minute interval mid way.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow, and can be found here.
