Hand-picked by Oscar de la Renta himself only days before his death last October, Peter Copping’s first campaign as creative direcor of the fashion house has been revealed.
There’s no doubt that Copping has big, maybe huge, shoes to fill, however he sure wasn’t afraid to make his presence known.
Think timeless glamour and lavish elegance (of course), romantic hues and dramatic detail with an angular bustier, long blush-coloured gloves and extravagant gowns that go on forever.
Model Carolyn Murphy looks sophisticated and beautiful against a rich feature wall, and in true Oscar de la Renta fashion, she is bejewelled and completely chic with lace neck detailing.
Despite keeping the classic de la Renta aesthetic very much intact (just the way we like it), Copping definitely brings a more modern edge to the shoot, including more single-colour styles, shorter skirts and blazer-inspired designs.
