The night is dark and full of teasers.

As announced back in November, winter is a mere three months away in the Game of Thrones realm.

To keep fans entertained until then, HBO has announced the cast for the Game of Thrones prequel which is due to start filming this year.

The prequel, which is set thousands of years before the current Game of Thrones storyline, chronicles the history of Westeros, detailing the origin of the White Walkers, various mysteries of the east and the legend of the Starks.

Joining the previously announced Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse is a bevvy of familiar faces. You’ll recognise Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black Mirror), Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Denish Gough (Colette), Sheila Atim (Harlots) and Alex Sharp (To the Bone).

In true Game of Thrones fashion, details of the characters have been kept under wraps. However, rest assured knowing the series is in good hands.  George R.R. Martin and GOT writer Jane Goldman will produce the release, while it’ll be directed by S.J. Clarkson (also signed on to direct the Star Trek sequel).

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
