To coincide with World Refugee Day.

IKEA’s just unveiled a new social entrepreneurship collection, designed to create jobs for refugee women.

The brand first announced its partnership with the Jordan River Foundation in 2017. A not-for-profit NGO, the foundation works to provide jobs for local Jordanian women as well as refugees who are in need of work.

The first instalment of the TILLTALANDE collection features handmade cushions and a woven Bedouin woollen rug. Its production saw more than 100 artisans employed – a number Ikea expects to double by next year, with several more releases on the horizon.

TILLTALANDE will be available exclusively in IKEA Brooklyn, but we’re hoping to see its release expanded as the collection grows.
