I’m so excited, I’m in too deep.

We’ll just say it it’s about time someone made a Broadway musical comprised of Britney Spears’ greatest hits.

Making this very concept a reality is theatre owner James L. Nederlander, who recently announced a new musical comedy, aptly titled Once Upon a One More Time.

The musical will centre around classic fairytale characters (think Cinderella and Snow White), intertwining their lives with Britney’s musical catalogue.

And as you can probably guess, the plot is just, a lot.

Jon Hartmere, who is signed on to write the story, described the show’s general premise to The New York Times, explaining:

“Cinderella is having an existential crisis, and she has a posse of famous princesses, and her stepmother is the main antagonist.” He goes on to add: “There’s also Prince Charming and a dwarf we’ve never met — the eighth dwarf — and a narrator who is unhappy his system is being dismantled before his eyes.”

If the musical is anything like our predictions, we’ll be looking forward to Cinderella’s rendition of ‘Slave 4 U’, and a ‘Toxic’ number to follow Snow White’s poison apple scene.

Once Upon a One More Time will make its Broadway debut on November 13, with pre-shows beginning October 29 at the James. M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago.
