Role Description
Stella and Estelle are successful, contemporary women’s fashion brands sold in Australia and the USA. Our customers include retail department stores and various ecommerce retail accounts.
We’re looking for a Buyer to join our team on a part-time basis (24 hours per week). You’ll have an innate sense of style, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for the fast-paced world of fashion.
In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving product ranges across our global markets. Your understanding of both local and international trends will be instrumental in building commercially balanced ranges that align with the brand aesthetic and critical path
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the commercial bridge between Planning, eCommerce, and Design
- Construct commercially balanced ranges with the right mix of print, plain, colour, and product categories
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and Design Team to shape product strategy and ensure alignment with the brand vision and commercial objectives
- Work closely with the Planner and Production Team to maintain a clear price architecture that supports sales and profitability
- Analyse sales reporting and market trends to identify product opportunities and risks
- Drive trading performance alongside Planning through strategic OTB management, range optimisation, and option planning across all categories
- Partner with the Planner to prepare and present post-season analysis, identifying key learnings and opportunities
- Maintain a strong understanding of local and international fashion trends through market research, store visits and online analysis
Experience
- At least 2-3 years’ experience as a Junior Buyer
- Womenswear buying experience is essential
- Experience working across international markets is preferred
- Strong retail acumen and commercial judgement, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
