Role Description
Unreal Fur, a leading Australian vegan fashion brand, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Junior Fashion Designer to join our creative team in a full-time role. In this role, you will play a key part in the design and production process, ensuring the highest quality standards for our cruelty-free fashion products.
Key Responsibilities
- Education in Fashion/Textiles design is a must
- Assisting with development of seasonal ranges; wovens, knitwear, outwear, accessories
- Sourcing fabrics that achieve quality standards within cost
- Costing products and negotiating with suppliers
- Creation and maintenance of spec sheets and adhering to schedules
- Measuring samples and attending fittings
- Providing timely, clear communication, both to team members and suppliers
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to take direction and follow instruction
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
An eye for quality, detail and consistency is key to the position, as is the ability to multitask. Knowledge of print and textile development and accessories is beneficial. Applicants must be Melbourne-based and have the right to work full-time in Australia. Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and a formal qualification in fashion/textiles.
