Melbourne band Peak Twins release their second album ‘Beloved’

Words by Christina Karras

Get down.

I like my music the way I like my friends, spooky pop with a hint of melodrama.

Indie Melbourne band Peak Twins have certainly delivered on that moody tension when they unveiled their highly anticipated second album Beloved today.

The eight tracks move rhythmically from crescendo to release, featuring slow building string arrangements over lingering multi-layered vocals.

Since forming the band from their sharehouse in 2012, founding members Joel Carey and Liam Kenny have expanded to a six-piece live band.

To celebrate the new release, Peak Twins will play a special acoustic set at Record Paradise in Brunswick, Melbourne tonight from 6:30 pm.

You can read full details about the gig here, and listen to ‘Beloved’ here.
